SPC-909N is a water based coating remover which is environmentally friendlier and safer to use than traditional chemical strippers.

RECOMMENDED USE

SPC-909N can be applied on coatings adhered to all types of aircraft including helicopters.

PREPARATION

Prior to application of product remove any grease and heavy dirt from aircraft, mask and protect all areas and other painted surfaces not being stripped. Masking tape should be MIL-T23397B Type ll or equal. Check OEM manuals for appropriate masking procedures.

APPLICATION

  1. Airless spray equipment with chemical resistant piston pumps larger than 2hp or capable of above 200 psi should be used. For small areas the product can be brushed using a soft medium brush. Nozzle Tip – 0.53 to 0.79 (0.021″to 0.031″) Spray Angle – 65° to 80°
  2. Apply generously to ensure an even coverage. Repeat application may be required. A coverage of a litre per square meter or better can be achieved.
  3. Dwell times will vary but should range between 1 and 12 hours. SPC-909N can be left on overnight.
  4. When the bond between the paint and the substrate has been broken, the paint can be easily removed by pressure water washing and or rubber squeegee. Remove SPC-909N when moist, do not allow product to dry out.
  5. Being water based SPC-909N will work faster in warmer temperatures. 65°F (18°C) and above are desired. For optimum performance temperatures between 100°F – 115°F (28°C-32°C) would be required.
  6. Thoroughly rinse surface with water to ensure all SPC-909N residue is removed.

REPAINTING

Prior to repainting the surface must be completely dry. Paint manufacturers guidelines should be adhered to for required surface preparation.

DISPOSAL STATEMENT

Dispose of stripper residue and paint chips in plastic drums, if using metal drums always use a plastic liner. Avoid discharge to natural waters. Dispose of contents / containers in accordance with local / regional / national / international requirements. For unused and non contaminated product incinerate in a permitted hazardous incinerator / thermal destruction facility. As a disposal alternative dispose of waste in a permitted hazardous waste facility. Refer MSDS sheets for more information.

STORAGE

Store SPC-909N where it will not freeze or in direct sunlight. All containers must be sealed properly.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Harmful by inhalation, absorbed through skin or swallowed. Do not breathe vapours/spray. Avoid contact of the product with eyes and skin. Wear appropriate clothing, gloves and chemical splash goggles. Use only in well ventilated areas. If insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory protection. Do not mix with other chemicals. Keep out of reach of children.

FIRST AID

Inhalation: Move to fresh air, if not breathing give artificial respiration, seek medical attention immediately.

Eye/Skin Contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting, drink plenty of water or milk, call physician immediately.
